A technical talk on “RTOs and WSN” was held
on 8th of April 2017. The speaker was Dr. Rathna, Principal Research Scientist from IISc,
Bengaluru. 100+ students participated in this technical talk from various departments.

The students from various departments shared their experience regarding the talk and
gave a good feedback about the event. |
A program consists of a group of related projects and Program management
is the process of managing multiple on going projects. An example would be that of designing,
manufacturing and providing support infrastructure for an automobile make. Program management
involves centrally managing and coordinating groups of related projects to meet the objectives
of the program. In some cases Project Management is a subset of Program Management. The project
manager may report to the program manager in such cases. A portfolio consists of multiple programs. |

3. Dr. Ratna G N, Principal research Scientist IISc Bangalore has given a
Seminar on
"Real time systems and sensor networks" on 08-04-2017. The seminar was
conducted in MCA seminar hall. The speaker has discussed about Wireless sensor networks
represent a new generation of distributed embedded systems with a broad range of real-time
applications. Examples include fire monitoring, border surveillance, health care, and
highway traffic coordination. Such systems must meet new kinds of timing constraints
under severe resource limitations in highly dynamic environments. Wireless sensor networks
challenge many classical approaches to real-time computing. Wireless networking protocols,
operating systems, middleware services, data management, programming models, and theoretical
analysis all fundamentally change when confronted with such new systems and environment.

The speaker delivered about Internet of Things and Cloud Computing
and explained about the future of the above technical areas. He said Internet of
Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing are the hottest issues of Future Internet.
The IoT is the most important concept for the Future Internet for providing a
common global IT Platform to combine seamless networks and networked things.
Cloud Computing provides backend solutions for processing huge data streams and
computations while facing the challenges of everything that will be connected with
seamless networks in the future. However, there is a lack of common fabric for integrating
IoT and Cloud. In telecommunications, the IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) based on the All-IP
and Open Services Architecture, has been regarded as the trend for Next Generation Network (NGN).
We believe that the IMS communication platform is the most suitable fabric for integrating IoT
and Cloud. In this study, we will provide the discussion of open challenges and possible solutions for Future Internet.

7. Seminar on IOT and its challenges by Dr. S Ramani ,
Prof Emeritus, Dept., of CSE MSRIT, Former scientist ISRO,banglaore
on 12-03-16. The seminar was conducted in MCA seminar hall.
Technology is quickly changing the way we interact with the world around us. We are moving
towards a new networking paradigm which is Internet of Things (IoT), where number of interconnected
sensors or smart objects deployed around the world keeps generating data and transmit over the internet
to achieve greater value and services. IoT organizations are trying to create new smart devices which are
efficient in all the aspects and be more useful to the society. But there are still challenges that threaten
to growth of IoT development. This paper presents the basic architecture of IoT along with many challenges that
exists and it demands more research, innovative ideas to overcome such barriers for the growth of Internet of Things.

9. Seminar on Big Data by Dr.Suchadra Chatopadyay, Associate Professor,
C.DAC , Bangalore on 14-03-15.Big data is a term for data sets that are so large or
complex that traditional data processing application software is inadequate to deal with them.
Challenges include capture, storage, analysis, data duration, search, sharing, transfer,
visualization, querying, updating and information privacy. The term "big data" often refers
simply to the use of predictive analytics, user behavior analytics, or certain other advanced
data analytics methods that extract value from data, and seldom to a particular size of data set.
"There is little doubt that the quantities of data now available are indeed large, but that’s not
the most relevant characteristic of this new data ecosystem." Analysis of data sets can find new
correlations to "spot business trends, prevent diseases, combat crime and so on." Scientists,
business executives, practitioners of medicine, advertising and governments alike regularly meet
difficulties with large data-sets in areas including Internet search, fintech, urban informatics,
and business informatics. Scientists encounter limitations in e-Science work, including meteorology,
genomics, connectomics, complex physics simulations, biology and environmental research.

|
10. Seminar on Managing Big Data by Dr.Susheela Devi, principal research scientist, IISC, Bangalore on 14-02-15. The seminar was conducted in MCA seminar hall.
The key points of discussion are Big data management in the organization, administration and governance
of large volumes of both structured and unstructured data. The goal of big data management is to
ensure a high level of data quality and accessibility for business intelligence and big
data analytics applications.

12. Seminar on Roles of Big Data in big Discovery by Dr.Suchadra Chatopadyay,
Associate Professor, C.DAC, Bangalore on 5-04-14. The seminar was conducted in MCA seminar hall.
Professor talked Big Data's Evolving Role in E-discovery: What Is Predictive Coding? Predictive
coding is helping to speed up the often laborious and intense e-discovery process.
|
|
13. Workshop on An Exposer to world wide web Development skills using J2EE.co-organised
by Kaiten Software Solutions,Bangalore, on 09-10-13 The seminar was conducted in MCA seminar hall.
J2EE is a multi platform that supports both language and web services and therefore makes it a popular
option for most Java application development solutions. A number of different kinds of applications can
be designed for e-learning, online polls, e-commerce, Java based applications or services to create
customized advanced applications. J2EE developers excel in creating specialized solutions using Java
based application development programs.
|
Web application development has become extremely popular and is used at three
different levels such as user services, business services and data services. J2EE
or java application development primarily serves the needs of business and companies across
the world. J2EE developers are skilled and possess the proficiency in creating innovative
J2EE enterprise solutions for businesses across the world. This is the reason why companies choose
to outsource J2EE development to J2EE developers in India.

14. Seminar on Big Data & Data Sciences and Virtualization & Green Computing by
Dr. Srinivasan , Professor Emeritus, Dept., CSE ,MSRIT, Bangalore on 26-09-13. The seminar
was conducted in MCA seminar hall. Green computing is the environmentally responsible and
eco-friendly use of computers and their resources. In broader terms, it is also defined as
the study of designing, manufacturing/engineering, using and disposing of computing devices
in a way that reduces their environmental impact. computing, virtualization means to create
a virtual version of a device or resource, such as a server, storage device, network or even
an operating system where the framework divides the resource into one or more execution environments.

|
15. Workshop on Struts, Spring and Search Engines by T.Muthukrishnan, Webzeest Technologies,
Bangalore, on 27-03-13. This was conducted in R. Venkatesh Auditorium. Struts the most popular framework
for developing Java based web applications. Struts is being developed as an open source project started
by Apache Software Foundation. Struts framework is based on Model View Controller (MVC) architecture.
The Spring Framework is an application framework and inversion of control container for the Java platform.
The framework's core features can be used by any Java application, but there are extensions for building
web applications on top of the Java EE platform. Although the framework does not impose any specific
programming model, it has become popular in the Java community as an alternative to, replacement for,
or even addition to the Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) model. The Spring Framework is open source.
A web search engine is a software system that is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web.
