The department has been showcasing its R & D capabilities in ‘i 2-A pavilion’ stalls since 2014. It has participated in i) I M T E X ’14, ii) I M T E X ’15, iii) I M T E X ’16, besides this years iv) I M T E X ’17. It has good interactions and M o U with P I A (Peenya Industries Association).

The following are the activities/ Events which were conducted.

  1. A Two Day Workshop on “Teaching Methodology in Thermodynamics – Thermodyn 15” was conducted in SaIT Campus for the benefit of the faculty of V T U affiliated College, along with the students of SaIT mechanical engineering department.
  2. An expert  lecture on “Design of Machine Elements was arranged in Department of Mechanical Engineering. The resource person for this was Dr M H ANNAIAH Professor and Head of the Department , Automobile Engg.,Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore and a renowned author.
  3. Dr P L S Murthy of M S Ramaiah Instt. of Technology, gave the necessary  inputs for the students in his expert lecture on Kinematics of Machine
  4. One of the tough subject Thermo dynamics was made easy by the lecture of Prof. Hampali, of REVA Instt. of Tech. & Mgmt. Bangalore
  5. Technical paper presentation was organized on 19th May 2016 to bring out their hidden technical talents.
  6. Mech Manthana / Darshana -16 an exhibition of project works of outgoing students was arranged on 20th May 2016. The projects were evaluated by the external academicians and expert from industry and R &D organizations to identify the best ones.
  7. The valedictory of FOSAMECH  was held on the same evening with Dr Udaykumar, Scientist, N A L, C S I R, Bangalore, as Chief Guest.

All the above said events were conducted in order to give latest knowledge on the above said Topics to the Students

STUDENT's Achievements
 
Students club by name "Indian Retro Falcons (consisting of 18 students)" are actively involved in a project fabrication of "U T V (utility vehicle)" which will be exhibited at National level competition to be held 23rd Feb 2018 at Jaipur. This project is being done under the guidance of the faculty Mr. Ravi Kumar.
 
 
 
Four students Akshath, Jayanth, Harshith and Ganesh Darshan with co author of Mr. Ravi Kumar published papers at national level conference on Recent Advancements in Mechanical Engineering and Allied field held at Sir M V I T Bengaluru.
