Various activities are conducted by the department to promote involvement of staff and students in research and advanced training programmes such as Faculty Development Programmes, Seminars, Workshops.
It is a tradition in the department to hold Technical talks on various topics and some of them are related
to Urban Air Quality Management, Pollution-A Serious Threat To Nature, Hazardous Pollution-Management,
High tech bridge construction and bridge rehabilitation, Solid waste management, Applications Of Remote Sensing
& Geographical Information System. |

| Socio – Environmental Activity |
The students of Civil Engg and Electronics Engg Departments of Sambhram institute of
technology have invented bacteria based green toilet which was installed in Govt high
school, Kakol village, Hesaragatta hobli of Doddaballapur taluk of Bangalore district.
The overall cost of the green toilet was about Rs.60,000 /-. The water used for the toilet
is cleaned by bacteria and after cleaning the water can be used for cleaning of household
utensils, gardening etc., No need of cleaning the toilet pit and maintenance free. This is
the first time they have done the project in south India and they want to extend the same everywhere.

| One batch of UG project of 8th semester was approved by the HRDD, ISTRAC, ISRO Bangalore to carryout the project work in their campus during Feb 2019 to April 2019. |

| Another UG project of 8th semester (2017-18 batch) titled “Study on E-waste (PCB Boards), bacterial concrete and strengthening of RCC beams by Wrapping technique” has got research excellence award in AMC college of Engineering, Bangalore. |
