The Master’s degree course in Computer Applications
(MCA) is a prestigious 3 year (6 semesters) course
approved by AICTE and is run under the curriculum of
Visvesvaraya Technological University.
The course is carefully redisgned and updated by the
University from time to time keeping in view the ever
changing trends in IT industry. The programme aims at
preparing professionals for the Information Technology
industry. This post graduate course focuses on both
theoretical and practical application of computer
technology in enabling the students to be knowledgeable in
programming, analytical ability, networking, computational
techniques, multimedia communication methods, simulation,
modeling, artificial intelligence etc.
The MCA course has enormous job opportunities in the field
of Information Technology, Bio-technology, Arts, Human
Resources or Business Management. IT field offers more
career prospects for the talented manpower in the near
future.
About the Department
The Department of MCA was established in the year
2009. Since its inception, the department has made rapid
strides in the field of Computer education.
To provide leadership in the field of computer science
through MCA degree and other programs resulting in quality
software engineers, educators, administrators and
researchers by adopting a carefully balanced curriculum
embedded with innovative practices. The program enables
the student to be updated on the latest revolution in
technology and equips him/her with the required skills and
knowledge to assimilate into the industry at ease. The
content deliver is uniquely complemented by extensive
practical training.

conduct are,
IT fest, Workshop/Seminars (students & faculties),
sports, project activities, industrial visits,
industrial collaborated training program, industrial
seminar from industrial guru’s, group discussion, soft
skill program for students, Student Development
Program and Faculty Development Program.

The student forum in MCA department is ‘Technozia’.
Department Laboratories
- Our high-tech laboratory with completely network
with 60 desktop, LCD projector and UPS back up.
- All the system are PVI with latest technology
and configuration and backup.
- Additional peripheral like printer, external DVD
(RW) and scanner.
- Microsoft campus agreement for all the Microsoft
software/OS/Application software
- License software for other application project
development and research activity.
