Computer Science & Engineering -Cyber Security (CSE-Cyb Sec)
The field of Cybersecurity Engineering focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure digital systems and networks to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats. This discipline blends principles from computer science, engineering, and information security to create robust defense mechanisms against a wide range of cyber risks.
Cybersecurity engineers play a vital role in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of digital assets, including data, networks, and software applications. They analyze potential vulnerabilities, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and create protective measures that safeguard against malicious activities. These professionals are skilled in areas such as network security, encryption, intrusion detection and prevention, vulnerability assessment, and ethical hacking.
Cybersecurity engineering is a dynamic and rapidly evolving field that plays a crucial role in securing the digital landscape of our interconnected world.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Cybersecurity) is established in the year 2022 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. The department has well-experienced faculty with expertise in cybersecurity. It has state-of-art laboratories with licensed software and unlimited internet access. The Department conducts project competitions, hackathons, seminars, technical talks, and various other events to upgrade the skills of the students. Students get exposure to real-time projects, consultancy projects, and sponsored projects in the area of cybersecurity. Students are encouraged to become part of Professional societies like IEEE, CSI, ISTE, etc. and participate in their events. Students are trained to conduct research and innovation in cybersecurity and publish research papers in reputed conferences and journals. Students will be placed in leading national and multinational companies based on their performance and merit. Students are encouraged to go for higher studies and required guidance is provided by the department.

MESSAGE FROM HOD
Dr. Sanjeetha R
HOD CSE - Cyber security
Learning cybersecurity is essential in today’s digital age for safeguarding sensitive information, preventing cyber threats, and ensuring the security of online interactions. Given the escalating frequency and complexity of cyberattacks, comprehending cybersecurity empowers both individuals and organizations to protect their digital assets, preserve privacy, and foster a secure online environment.
The Department of CSE (CyberSecurity) in Sambhram Institute of Technology emphasizes the importance of bridging the gap between theory and real-world applications. This emphasis equips students to become adept problem solvers and proficient security professionals. With a focus on hands-on experience, collaborative projects, and industry partnerships, we prepare our students to confront the intricate challenges of the contemporary digital landscape. Our goal is not solely to excel in cybersecurity but also to make a positive contribution to our interconnected world.

- Threat Intelligence: Promoting a proactive approach by keeping track of emerging threats and trends.
Through a combination of theoretical understanding, hands-on experiences, collaboration, and industry integration, students graduate with the expertise needed to combat cyber threats, secure networks, and contribute to the global effort to maintain a secure digital landscape. This process empowers them to become cybersecurity professionals who play a pivotal role in defending against evolving digital risks.
Information science and Engineering is originally a basic study to elucidate the mechanism of information processing in such biotic behavior as thinking, decision making, perception, and learning and a study to develop devices which can simulate those activities. Information science is applied to all fields of study, including the natural sciences, the arts and humanities, technology and social science, and has brought about revolutions in these areas.
The Faculty of information Science and Technology offers engineering and industry oriented subjects where the students can excel in the interested domain. These diversified programmes are application-oriented and are designed to produce competent graduates who can apply theories in practice. Our students are set to participate in industrial and research projects with a strong applied nature for industrial, commercial and community needs. They will be trained to think critically and analytically, thus standing them in good stead in their future professions and making them highly valued by employers.
Our team of professors and lecturers has an unswerving dedication to provide a caring environment and a gateway for aspiring students to pursue lifelong learning. We will always be around to help any and all, even after graduation and beyond.
