PRINCIPAL
Dr. H.G. Chandrakanth is a distinguished academician with extensive national and international experience in research and teaching. Born on August 14, 1969, he earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree from Bangalore University, followed by a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in 1994 and a Ph.D. in 1998 from Southern Illinois University, USA. His Ph.D. research focused on rank tests for radar detection, digital signal processing, and image processing. Notably, he achieved “A” grades in all subjects during his M.S. and Ph.D. programs.
With a specialization in wireless communications, Dr. Chandrakanth has made significant contributions to the development of state-of-the-art laboratories aimed at equipping engineering students with expertise in computer-aided design and simulation. His career spans 26 years of teaching and research, including six years as a faculty member at Tuskegee University in the USA. Before transitioning to academia, he worked as a Project Engineer at Bharat Electronics Ltd.
Dr. Chandrakanth has held leadership positions as the principal of reputed engineering colleges affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). His extensive research output includes numerous publications in international conferences and journals. He is an active reviewer for several technical journals and conferences and holds memberships in prestigious professional organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
Since joining Sambhram Institute of Technology in 2012, Dr. Chandrakanth has played a pivotal role in the institution’s growth and development, fostering academic excellence and innovation.
